Support Mae’s Designs

Donation protected
My niece Mae, a 7th-grade artist and graphic designer, is ready to start selling her artwork and clothing designs offline.  She needs to raise funds to purchase more art supplies, increase her inventory, and pay for vendor fees.

Background

A few years ago Mae was diagnosed with anxiety disorder and PTSD. Her psychologist suggested art therapy as an alternative to traditional treatment options. Our family noticed immediately that Mae had a true talent and a desire to learn more about all forms of art.

Soon she was watching YouTube tutorials learning everything she could and begging her parents for art lessons. Eventually, we found a social skills camp that included art lessons for special needs children, but the cost was out of our reach and her medical insurance would not cover that type of therapy. Mae shocked us all by offering to raise money selling shirts she designed herself. Before we knew it Mae had raised enough money to attend camp!

That’s when Mae I Design was born.

Since then Mae has worked hard learning more, gaining a modest following, and creating commissioned art. She’s donated part of her proceeds to her favorite charities (Save the Children, The Humane Society, and Direct Relief) and has started talking nonstop about selling her wall art and apparel at local offline venues. The only problem is that we do not have the money necessary to properly expand her growing business.

The Costs

Right now Mae needs start-up capital to pay for:

1. Booth rental/vendor fees for local weekend events and markets.
2. Art supplies (graphite pencils, matte paper, sketch pads, mounts, ink etc.) used for her hand drawings.
3. Apparel items in featuring her custom design in bulk and/or a screen printer with blanks.

The total cost to get her started is approximately $1700.00 and though she is working hard she is still a long way from meeting her goal. The desire to make an impact in her community through her art is all Mae talks about.

To our family, this goes far beyond a business venture. It is a chance for a selfless child who has overcome much adversity to continue blossoming doing something she truly loves. We are all extremely proud of her and want to her to continue embracing such a healthy, positive outlet.

How You Can Help

Please share this campaign as much as possible to help others learn about Mae and her business goals. Each share will help her get closer to making her dream a reality. If you can please consider making a monetary donation. Every single dollar helps and the rewards below are Mae’s way of saying thank you for believing in her.

We appreciate your encouragement and are truly grateful for your support.
