Support Micah's Journey to Gender Affirmation

Donation protected
Micah has been one of my closest friends since high school. They’ve been there when I was down, needed support, and a friend to go to. He’s been by my side for all of my wonderful ups and painful dark downs; and it’s time I return the favor. I’ve watched as their gender identity came to unfold since high school; the confidence he gained, lost, and had to take back over and over again, pieces of art created in inspiration to their dysphoria and gender identity, and all of the people who left or stayed to support his identity. I watched as high school teachers were forced to deadname them because of a high school district’s rules, watched as he stressfully walked across campus to use the limited and dispersed gender neutral bathrooms. Unfortunately, being transgender is really hard in this day and age. It’s such a politically charged topic, interrupts relationships with friends and loved ones, and can negatively impact career growth. While we don’t have much control what other people think or believe, we can control and take advantage of the resources we have. We can control who we freely surround ourselves with, what we do to cope with such a discriminated against cause. And we can witness the beauty of watching people we care about uncovering who they are, finding their authentic and true self. I’ve seen the pain on Micah’s face after coming home from an event with people who deadnamed them, and I’ve seen the confidence, joy, and assurance on Micah’s face when they find clothes that reassure their identity, make friends who support them, and attend clubs that accept him. And I want to invite that joy, the confidence, the feeling that Micah can be who they are meant to be. So please, help donate to fund his top surgery, so Micah can get one step closer to another win, another source of hope, happiness, and sense of who he is.
