*UPDATE*
Thankyou everyone who has supported Lily and her family as they continue to fight. It is very much appreciated and everyone has been overwhelmingly kind with the whole city of Perth coming together as well as donations from across the U.K.
This week begins Lilys 5th round of Chemo at Edinburgh Sick Kids. So far Lily has responded very well with scans showing the cancer nearly clear from her lungs and a reduction of the size of tumour in her shoulder.
Lily has continued to defy medics and astound us all with her strength and bravery as she continues to dance and keep active as much as she can taking part in many workshops and competitions- of course she came first place! Star!
Your funds continue to support Lily and her family with expenses and any future operations/rehabilitation therapy Lily may need in the future. No funds from this campaign will be going to any raffle/auction or otherwise. 100% goes to Lily.
Many thanks to you all. Brooke (Lilys dance teacher)
This is Lily Douglas. She's an explosion of energy, full of talent, joy and kindness and is facing one of life's hardest journeys. Cancer. Three weeks ago 9 year old Lily went to her doctors with a sore lump on her shoulder after attending a dance competition. After being rushed through tests her family got the news last week that Lily has Stage 4 Ewing's Sarcoma cancer. What we thought was a dance related injury was every parents worst nightmare. There was no warning, no symptoms. Life has handed her the toughest of battles and she begins her treatment today, May 1st at Edinburgh Sick Kids Hospital.
As you can imagine her family are devastated and this is an extremely difficult time for them. We would like to help take some of the financial stress away from her parents, Jane and Scott so they can concentrate on their daughter. All monies will go towards whatever they need at this time- help with their personal finances as they take time off from work, travel and accommodation to stay through in Edinburgh while Lily receives treatment and of course any future treatments/rehabilitation needed not available on the NHS.
Lily is a huge local personality attending two dance schools in Perth, JGN Dance Attic and Inspire Dance Studios and has won countless trophies and championships as well as performing in professional theatre productions in Scotland. She has so much to give this world and we, her dance family, are determined to help her win this battle. The two schools will be pulling together to fundraise and hope many of you will join us all at various local events which are already being planned.
Thankyou for all your support and kindness. I know Lily and her family will appreciate every penny of donation. We're behind them every step of this journey. So please #SupportOurLily and share our page. Stay Brave Lily. XxxX
