Support Pete Badgero and Family
Pete Badgero lost his his foot in a tractor incident while he was working at the Tri-City Motor Speedway over the weekend in a freak accident, when his leg was caught underneath a roto-tiller. He has gone through one surgery, and has another slated for Sunday 6-24 to further access the condition of his leg. Due to the nature of the injury and the amount of dirt and mud, the doctors were not fully able to operate, instead focusing on cleaning the wound to hopefully negate the chances of serious infection.
Pete has worked for the Tri-Cities for the past three years, and truly loves his job. They operated on his foot, unable to save it in the early morning of Saturday 6/23. Not even having been in his room for ten minutes, he asked for his phone to call to make sure the races finished. #talkaboutpassion
Despite the tragedy, he's kept his sense of humor and good spirits:
MLIVE: Man stays humorous after losing foot in tractor crash at Tri-City Motor Speedway
"Just call me Lefty, ma," He joked as they wheeled him into his room.
The only thing Pete loves more than the races is his family. Here is a photo just a few weeks prior to the incident with his grandsons.
With the current situation Pete will not be making it back to the races this year, unable to work and his long time partner Laura will be needing to also take time off as he begins to heal and learn how to walk with a prosthetic leg in the near future. Its going to be a long journey, but with a little help from the community his family can focus on whats important, his health and recovery.
We are asking to help raise funds in order to stave off the financial burden as the family begins therapy and can focus on recovery and not financial distress.
Every dollar will go a long way, every share, every like helps!
