TONIGHT's VIGIL AGAINST VIOLENCE - April 19th 8:30PM

This candlelit Vigil Against Violence is a visible expression of solidarity with the two members of our community who were viciously attacked near Dirty Goose this weekend, the two others who were similarly assaulted two weeks ago outside Town. 

We will assemble at Stead Park Thursday night at 8:30 and the event will begin as soon as the final game has ended, around 9 p.m.

This is the first of a series of events that will, in fact, be what I'm calling a "Muscular Response" to end this violence once and for all. Tonight we’re solemn. Tomorrow, we march.

Candles and ASL interpretation, of course, will be provided.

Early Sunday morning April 15th, Michael Creason and Zach Link were the victims of a brutal homophobic attack.  Michael experienced a concussion.  Zach suffered a broken nose and broken teeth.  Both will have limited income from their freelance work for an unknown amount of time.  Medical expenses will be incurred and potential legal expenses.  We have set up this fund to collect donations that will offset these expenses so they can focus their energies on healing and not on financial stresses.  Any funds remaining from this Go Fund Me after expenses are covered will be donated to a local DC LGBT organization.

Ella and Natalie are DC sign language interpreters that have worked with Michael and Zach in various capacities for years.  Michael and Zach will be given direct access to this account and will have complete control of withdrawals and fund distributions.

We are completely overwhelmed with the response we have received and  appreciative.  In hopes of providing Michael and Zach all they need, we have decided to increase the goal.  Again, Michael and Zach will have complete and total control of withdrawals and distributions of the funds and funds remaining will be donated to a local DC LGBT organization.
