I am the lead editor for the Journal of Creative Library Practice , and I have been an academic librarian for over 20 years. After talking with some other like-minded librarians in the Library Society of the World (LSW), I wanted to start up a new Open Access LIS journal that would challenge stuffy and conservative traditions in journal publishing and experiment with new modes of scholarly communication. Several other LSW members agreed with the concept, and the Journal of Creative Library Practice was born January 2013. Thus, we have built a platform for sharing the creative work librarians do in libraries of all types.
The journal editors have been paying annual fees for website hosting, which is $179/year. We are raising money to cover a 10 year span of the hosting.
While we have been operating on a shoestring budget, we would like to raise a modest amount of money from readers, authors, and other supporters of the Open Access movement to keep the journal sustainable for the next decade.
Please help us in our endeavors.
