Save Burmese Center from Closing
Donation protected
Your donation will help the doors of the Burmese Advocacy Center open beyond March 2016. Without your help, we will have to close our doors in 3 months.

Over the last seven years, the Burmese Advocacy Center assisted thousands of Burmese refugees and immigrants in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Transition from refugee camps to fitting into the living standard in the United States is certainly a big jump. But refugees are expected to be on their own after six months of arrival. In reality, it takes years to fit in. The Center has been filling the gap as a one-stop location for assistances such as job placement, job readiness training, ESL classes, educational workshops, community connections, filling out various forms and miscellaneous assistances – anything that refugees need help with.

However, within a few years, Burmese immigrants in Fort Wayne became taxpaying citizens of the city. Employers, realtors, auto dealers, personal bankers, and mortgage loan officers know the best how Burmese are now contributing to the economic well-being of the city. To get to this point, the Center has been a stepping stone and accelerating their progress within a short period of time.
Unfortunately, due to lack of funding, the Center is about to close. However, reaching our campaign goal of $10,800 will keep us open through September 2016. It is $1,200 for the next nine months. It will give us time to obtain grants and self-funding strategy for our long-term survival.
Your generosity will help us save the center from closing. We voluntary our time to help others in need and the last thing we want to do is close our doors.
Your donations turn into a gift of love and caring to those who need – in so many wonderful ways. You can make a difference by donating so that the center will not need to close its doors.
Addition to your financial contribution, we ask that you show your support by sharing this on your Facebook.
Thank you!
