Supporting Laura's Vibrant Health
Donation protected
Laura Peterson was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016, managing it successfully by natural means and feeling healthier than she had ever before in her life for nearly 18 months. At the end of 2017, she began having unexplained pain that became worse over time and went in for testing. On February 15, 2018, her 47th birthday, Laura received results that the cancer had metastasized to her liver, lungs, lymph, and bones.
The worst birthday she could have imagined.
Upon receiving the news, she and her husband Eric homed their laser-focused effort on a new plan. After further testing and scans, doctor visits, and a hospital stay to manage Laura's pain, the oncologist suggested a chemo treatment that was aggressive, but with a limited survival rate.
It was clear that treatment was urgent, yet in consideration of her quality of life and her desire to feel as vibrantly healthy as possible and well cared for in the process, the plan being offered did not feel right.
With exhaustive research, Laura found a clinic in Germany that uses a well-documented combination of alternative treatments alongside chemotherapy to increase its efficacy, which is more gentle for the body than traditional options, boosting its own natural immune response to help the chemo destroy the cancer cells. In addition, the physician and the treatment protocol are well-respected, and more cost-effective than what she had been offered by her doctors in the States. For the first time in many weeks, Laura felt hopeful -- she had found an option that would be life-giving and immersive, offering her an experience that would consider her situation individually and would support her whole being in living the hand she had been dealt fully and well.
Not only is this opportunity to go to Germany life-giving for Laura, it is life-giving for her family. Along with Laura and Eric, their boys Noah (13) and Eli (9) are traveling overseas to share in this adventure of love and life, healing and health, gratitude and goodness together.
Thank you in advance for your support! All funds raised will go towards treatment, travel expenses, and peace of heart and mind, none of which is covered by insurance. Please know that no amount is "too small" -- we've seen time and time again that every heartfelt contribution makes a world of difference in the lives of not only those who receive the gifts of donation, but those who give them and witness the journey and impact of their kindness. We thank YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and invite you along for the ride.
