HELP SUPPORT OUR LOCAL VETERANS

My name is Melanie Derouin, Myself and My Co worker Sandy Cambell are VA Medical Foster Home Care Providers . We provide loving homes to disabled Veterans for the Gulf Coast in Florida, and Alabama. Our Veterans and their caregivers have been invited to participate in the VA Golden Games in Biloxi Ms. for the 1st time. Let me tell you about the VA Medical Foster Home Care Program. Sadly many people have no idea that the program exsists because the governent does not allow the program to be advertised. Thanks to our program coordinators who spend countless hours going into facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living and homeless shelters to spread the word. There's actually a program out there to help The Men and Woman who fought for Our Country and we would like to spread the word. We as MFHCP bring these Veterans into our homes . We provide the care, support, family atmosphere and love that all of these men and women deserve but may not have. Many Veterans do not have families who are not able to care for them. Once these Men or Women walk through our doors they become our family members. We give them a forever home, 24 hour supervision, we take them to Dr's Appointments, administer their medications, and assist them with all their daily needs. Most importantly we give them unconditional love and support. We're by their sides when they are sick or just need someone to listen to them. We take them with us on family vacations, movies, bowling or anything they want to do. One of our main goals is to keep our Veterans active and moving. We were so honored to be invited to the V A Golden Games. We have about 10 veterans from our area that would like to participate. Many of our Veterans and caregivers have a very limited income so being able to travel to Biloxi Mississippi, rent a hotel for nearly a week and eat is not in the budget. We do not want to disappoint them so we are reaching out to all you Americans to help us raise $10,000 to get these very well deserved Veterans to the Golden Games.
