The Levesque's Fight Cancer!
Donation protected
Hello friends,
As many of you know by now Crystal Levesque's sister Megan was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer. This horrible disease has also spread to her lungs, and as it stands it's advancing at a high rate. This diagnosis has hit the family hard and they have been fighting bravely to support Megan as best they can. The strength that I've personally seen Crystal show and that Megan herself has shown is beyond my comprehension, if I'm being honest.
I have started this GoFundMe for their family. Crystal is a dear friend of mine and I know she is also to many of you. Crystal is one of the most selfless and generous people I've ever had the privilege of calling a friend. Anytime I've been caught in a bind she has been there to support me and is organizing solutions before I've even understood my own predicament. That's just the sort of person she is. She will always help others before thinking of herself, and sometimes to her own detriment.
Right now Crystal and her family are facing the biggest test of their lives. This is taking its toll as you can imagine. On top of that there are some financial demands which they are having to cover and this is becoming an added burden that frankly, I don't think they should have. To list a few;
- Hospital parking fees**
- Gas for visits / tests / support
- Food
- Things to help Megan be comfortable
- Meds that aren't covered
**this is crazy no? People have to pay these fees to be with loves ones??
To compound these costs is that fact that plenty of work-time is being missed. This means that while all this extra money is going out, so much less is coming in. Unfortunately the world doesn't stop for cancer.. The bills don't stop, rent doesn't go away, gas doesn't become cheaper.. you get the picture. I can't imagine having to stress about something as trivial as money when a loved ones life is on the line. Time is what matters here.. Time is all that matters for the Levesque family.
Crystal has also been working on bucket list for her sister, and even tho time is diminishing quickly it's still very important as you could imagine.
One last thing to add to this list will be the cost of a funeral. Its not something any family should have to be figuring out when facing such a difficult time in their lives.
No amount to give is too small. This is the power of crowdfunding. Many hands make light work, as they say. Lets proactively be positive karma for Crystal and her family during this time. It is the best way you can help them right now.
Thanks for your generosity and love.
