Surgery for Ugandan Transpeople
Donation protected
We are looking to raise money for four trans people from Uganda, two men and two women, to have hormone treatment and gender reassignment surgery.
Uganda is one of the most homo- and transphobic places in the world. It is impossible for Ugandans to access gender reassignment surgery in their own country. For this you have to travel to neighboring countries like Kenya and Tanzania and pay from your own pocket.
The money will be used to contribute towards hormones, surgery, travel expenses and also be used for other purposes such as relocation. A trans Ugandan who changes from living as their assigned gender to living as their preferred gender usually needs to move to a new house to make a fresh start, so the neighbors won't see the change, as this could lead to violence towards the trans person.
