Book Drive for Burn Unit Kids
When I was 15 months old, I was seriously burned by hot water. I spent more than a month at the burn unit at Via Christi hospital in Wichita.
As a parent, I can only imagine how scary it must be to have a child go through this. I'd like to give back in a small way -- by surprising kids with a little comfort at the hospital.
For every $25 donation we get on this GoFundMe, a book and teddy bear will be given to a child who is at Via Christi's burn unit. It's my goal to get 20 bears to the hospital... if not more.
I've found a book company that will match donations by 50%, which will get them even more books and bears for kids to hold and take home with them as they recover.
