Sustainability for Ke Kontan
Donation protected
The recent unrest in Haiti is no secret, and has presented a number of challenges for Ke Kontan Children’s home and for the country as a whole. In order to offer a sustainable future for children in our care we are looking for a new home! Unfortunately we’ve been asked to vacate our current residence where we've resided for the past few years. Our renting contract has expired, and although we were anticipating that we would be renewing the contract once again this year, the owner has decided that he does not want to renew our contract. This has come at short notice and we are being forced to find a new home quickly. The key here is that we also need to find a home within the same area as we do not want to have to take the children out of their current schools. If they are forced to attend different schools, they will lose their entire year thus far. With the move we will incur significant up front expenses, along with needing to continue with our regular operating expense of food, water, schooling, and care for the children. The next months are sure to be challenging, but we know our dedicated staff and resilient youngsters will continue to thrive with your help!
