Sierra View Playground Fund

Sierra View Elementary School is a small school in Madera, California.  The school currently has 393 students. The Sierra View Parents Club has been working to raise the money to replace the playground.  The current playground was installed in 1994. It is old and in need of replacement.

Golden Valley Unified School District is aware of the condition of the playground and has tried to maintain it as much as possible. The District would like to replace it as much as we do, but funding is a challenge.

Unfortunately, the California Department of the State Architects (DSA), which governs school construction, does not allow the district to replace one piece at a time.  Essentially it is an ALL or nothing proposition to update the playground in order to meet all the current Federal and State codes.

The cost of this proposed playground and concrete work will be approximately $98,500.  The Golden Valley Unified School District Board voted on October 6th to purchase the playground equipment at the cost of $58,070. The SVPC has raised $31,000 through fundraisers and donations for this playground project. Therefore, we are just $10,000 away from our goal of a new playground.

We are asking for your support in our fundraising efforts.  Please consider making a tax deductible donation to the Sierra View Playground Fund in order to help us raise the money to replace this playground. The Sierra View Parent Club is a 501c3 non-profit organization.
