PRESTON’S PATH

In the Spring of 2015, Preston Dumler was a happy 14-year old—playing baseball and dreaming of starting high school at Mountain Vista.  On May 11th 2015, those dreams were lost when Preston was taken too soon from all who love him.

Preston was active in sports including baseball, basketball, tennis and cross-country.  He had sparkling eyes, a smile that would light up the room and was a good friend to all.  Preston lived life to the fullest, he loved to laugh and make people happy.  His friends and family loved him immensely.

As we approach Preston’s birthday on April 12th, and near the anniversary of Preston's passing, many of us who miss him dearly want to honor and remember him--as well as lift up the Dumler family.  Through some work of friends, Mountain Vista High School has made land available near the sporting fields for a grove of trees that will commemorate Preston today and for years to come.  We know in our hearts that he is a big part of the Golden Eagle family, in spirit, and will be forever. There is also an opportunity, if enough funds are raised, to create a monument and picnic area next to the trees and adjacent to the baseball field.

Preston wore #27 on his baseball jersey…PD#27, and his favorite color was blue. Our goal is to plant 27 Blue Spruce trees to create Preston’s Path. Through this GoFundMe page, families can help reach this goal. The cost to plant, irrigate and maintain a tree will be $860. Please consider donating towards a tree; any amount is meaningful and everything is appreciated.

Our goal is to have all of the funds raised by Friday, April 22nd and the installation of the trees completed this May. Please help pass this along to the community so we reach all those who want to contribute to this long-lasting memorial for our beloved Preston.
