Medical and Travel expenses

I was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in 2012. On a trip to India in 2014 my health suddenly took a turn for the worse and I had to get a tracheostomy done. I am on ventilator support ever since the tracheostomy.
I am a Canadian citizen who is trying to get back to Canada.
My husband Sajeev is my primary caregiver. He has been beyond wonderful. He is my nurse, taking care of me like a mother would a newborn baby.
Initially my body did not adapt well to the tracheostomy. I was sick with infections and breathing difficulty. I was frequently hospitalized here in India. It is only over the last year that my health is stable. I did not have health insurance in India. We were using our savings for my frequent hospitalization. We can't afford to do that any more.
This is the reason I am trying to raise money is to travel back to Canada. I believe I will have better health care, qualified personal social workers who can take care of me during the day so my husband can go to work.
To travel back I will need a medical escort. I will need to be on a stretcher for the duration of the flight because I am a quadraplegic now. (In 2014 I used a walker around the house and a wheelchair when I went out.) Some commercial flights allow stretchers. The Canadian High Commission in New Delhi has been very helpful to us. It was the High Commission who made us aware that flying back to Canada is possible for me. The estimate that the High Commission gave for my flight is $ 51000.
Asking for help raising money is the hardest thing I have done so far. Probably as hard as coming to terms with the fact that I had ALS.
