Sycamore High School Tiny Home

Hello!
My name is Allison Flavin and I am an overachieving senior in High School with big tiny home dreams. For a project in my architecture class we were instructed to create floor plans of a home and I chose to create a tiny home. Little did I know this would turn into a source of excitement for the class. We all decided we wanted to build my home instead of the standard shed the course would have us build.
I never thought that we would actually convince our teacher to allow this or gain the donations and sponsorships that we have. With the incredible support from our community came the crushing realization that the money we needed far surpassed our original expectations (being High School students who like to dream big).
Currently we have materials to build the basic structure and donations to cover most of the rest. What we have yet to fund is the internal aspects of the home. We are looking to raise $10,000 in order to buy the appliances, flooring, and all the other aspects to make out tiny home a true home.
Our final plan for this project is to gain all the experience and collaboration this project would bring to our class and sell the home to a member of our community. The money from this sale would go towards the engineering and architecture programs in our school in order to fund other projects in the future when classes have similar grand plans. We hope to help the future generation to begin funding their projects and hopefully encourage them to dream big.
