Symphony 47 of LA Needs Your Help
Donation protected
Symphony 47 began as an idea, an idea to create an orchestra that is different. It's an orchestra that is open to players from all walks of life who haven't had the opportunities to play because of economic, age, or social factors. We are for those who have been denied access and opportunity to let their talents shine because of discrimination of all types in the classical music world.
We are a relatively new orchestra, so we are in the beginnings of fundraising for all the normal needs of a new orchestra. Running an orchestra that aspires to have 4 concerts a year, then paid rehearsals, is a huge project. We can only do this through the donations of great people like you. There are expenses of costly insurance, hall rental fees for rehearsals and concerts,
and ultimately musicians' salaries for our first concerts.
Right now, we desperately need funds to pay for our insurance, and for moving and storage costs related to our move to a new building. We also need money for advertising and promotional costs, and to raise money for our first concert's musician payroll and promotional costs. We also need to raise money for office expenses for large format music copying and music library expenses for organizing and packing up our huge donated library which must be ready for our move at the end of June.
We need the funds right away, by June 1st, to pay the insurance, moving, library, copying and office costs.
I am asking this on behalf of Symphony 47 as a member of its Board, and as its Artistic Coordinator who runs the orchestra as General Manager, Artistic Coordinator and Internal Personnel Manager. I report directly to the Symphony 47 Board and am responsible for the Artistic and General day-to-day operation of the orchestra.
The arts are in jeopardy right now, and funding is very hard to get. We can only depend on you, and your belief that it is very important to support an orchestra that serves minority and diverse populations who would never be able to play classical music as professionals. We also are an orchestra that will serve audiences by bringing classical music to those who could not afford to hear it because of financial or social barriers.
Symphony 47 is a registered not-for-profit with the Internal Revenue Service, and the State of California.
All contributions are fully tax-deductible.
