Mission: Enriching Lives and Strengthening Community Through Skateboarding. #talentskateparkforever
The local skateboard community mourned when Talent Skatepark and Shop closed its doors on August 5, 2018, after almost 17 years of business. Talent was so much more than a skatepark. It was a haven for kids of all ages to congregate and do what they love. When it closed, sad hugs were shared, disbelief set in, and the loss was (and still is) felt hard. So many skaters who knew Talent saved their lives and considered it their second home wondered how they would push through.
That’s when a passionate group of parents, who had seen first-hand their children benefit from Talent, came together with a mission to create a rebirth. After hours of meetings—and lots of guidance from original owner Hannah Deene Wood—Talent has come back to life as a non-profit. Talent Skatepark, Inc is a 501(c)(3) identified by EIN 83-2423468.
Since skateboarding began, it has provided a path for kids who don't find team sports appealing. Skateboarders fly freely around a skatepark on their terms without the pressure of anyone else. With the ever-growing intrusion of technology in young people’s daily lives, the critical need to foster more movement and personal interaction has never been higher.
We are actively working hard on creating and opening the new Talent Skatepark, Inc., Vermont's only non-profit indoor skatepark. Your donation will ultimately support our mission of enriching lives and strengthening the community through skateboarding. #talentskateparkforever
Talent Skatepark, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Your entire donation represents a charitable contribution. We have a letter of intent to begin construction on September 1, 2019. Time is of the essence. We must raise funds in the next two months to open on schedule. Thank you. #CommunityFirst #Talentskateparkforever
