Tammy's Courageous Battle

Tammy was diagnosed with colon cancer which is rare in a person as young as she is. She underwent an emergency surgery to save her life. She was in critical condition in Via Christi, St Frances Hospital. She has had reoccuring cancer coming back that each time she has fought with surgery, chemo therapy and a will brute force making her a Rock Star in cancer fighting.
8/2017 on a followup visit in Chicago, she did not get the news she was hoping for. The spot they have been watching has started to light up and look more like cancer activity. Her blood work is also showing her cancer numbers have gone up from a 3 to a 14. So, she starts chemo again next week for 6 rounds and then they will decide if another surgery is needed.
She has had 4 glorious months of no cancer treatments. We are grateful for that reprieve as it has allowed her to gain strength and get some of her fitness health back. She also has a sparkle back in her eyes and a new love in her life. She has been feeling so good that this news was surprising!
Tammy will again be flying back and forth to Chicago for treatment every other week. If you feel led and can contribute some to her on going treatment and travel expenses it would be greatly appreciated as well as your ongoing prayers. Cancer is expensive and a long term fight like this one has tapped her out physically as well as financially. Missed work, hotel costs and meals away from home all add up quickly. She continues to hold her head high and look cancer defiantly in the face and warrior on. She defines the word fighter.
Keep her in your thoughts and prayers. To say she is disappointed right now doesn't even come close.
Thanks for all each of you do in being her and our family's support during this crazy up and down fight for Tammy's life. We are forever grateful to all of you.
This GoFundMe page has been set up for Tammy and the costs involved in this fight. If you feel moved - please give what you can. Thank you.
01-16-2017 Tammy underwent yet another surgery to remove a tricky tumor, this surgery lasted 9.5 hours and they didn't find as much scar tissue as they were expecting. They did have to do a resection of her colon and vagina, as well as repair to her bladder. She has a temporary ostomy that is there to allow the rectum to heal. They hope to be able to reverse that with a small surgery in 3 months or so. The surgeon was very pleased with how the surgery went and how well Tammy did. Please continue to pray for healing and full recovery. If you feel moved to give - every little bit helps her in the financial burden this fight has created to beat this cancer! Thank you.
