Tanners Fight Against AML
Donation protected
This is Tanner Huddleston, a 21 year old from Edmond, OK with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He is a Son, a Brother, a Boyfriend, a Coach, a Leader and a Lover and this is his story..
Last January, I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and underwent 5 rounds of chemotherapy from then through May. I went into remission and remained there for a good while, only needing to see my oncologist for routine checkups monthly, and eventually every 3 months. On April 3rd of this year, during my last checkup, my blood work came back with an abnormally high percentage of blast cells (immature white cells that are indicative of leukemia). This led my oncologist to schedule me for a bone biopsy on the 7th and I got the results back on the 13th. Those results showed, unfortunately, that my leukemia was back and I was no longer in remission. It's not ideal and fear/anxiety have been trying to consume my thoughts, but I refuse to let that happen! I started chemo again today, April 18th, with the expectation and goal of achieving remission again. Following remission the next part of the plan would be to undergo a bone marrow transplant, which would hopefully provide me with new cells to fight off this disease for good! With all of this said, all that goes with any hospital stay, especially when it involves multi-week stays while undergoing chemo, can rack up a costly bill. I would greatly appreciate any donation to help alleviate some of the financial stress during this battle! Moreover, I could use all the prayers I can get, and if you want to see if we're a bone marrow transplant match, you can go to bethematch.org and they will send you the kit to get mouth swabbed and returned (yes it's really that simple!!!) to see if you're a match with me or any other patient in need of a transplant! I'm expected to be in for at least 3-4 weeks and greatly appreciate all the love and support! Let's kick this thing's butt!❤️❤️❤️
