Mexico City Earthquake Relief
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Taylor and I am hoping to raise money for Mexico City to help aid them after the terrible earthquake they experienced. Buildings collapsed, killing, traping and leaving people displaced and in need of help.
The beautiful thing is that it's citizens are activley volunteering to help rescue, clean, and repair the city. But they need our help!
The reason why I want to raise money and why Mexico City is so dear to my heart is because I lived there last Fall and studied abroad at the University of Iberoamericana. I had the most amazing experiences and came in contact with some of the nicest people ever. Everywhere I went I was greeted kindly and there was always someone willing to help out.
I'd like to share my personal first hand experience with the people of the city, as they helped me when I needed it the most. Last summer while visiting I had a seizure in the middle of the city leaving my three terrified girlfriends left to help me, however something amazing happened. A crowd of people gathered to offer asisstance and four random strangers decided to stay and help. An elderly woman, a police officer, a young business woman and a man, for 2 hours gave up their time to a stranger and helped nurse me back to consciousness. When I woke up I had no memory of what had happened but I was in awe when my friends explained the amazing kindness of these strangers. I had already fallen in love with the beautiful culture of the city and now it was confirmed that the people had beautiful souls as well. Although I will never know who these strangers are, I can only pray and hope that they are safe after the earthquake.
I will be donating all the money raised to the University Iberoamericana so that they can continue to provide care packages for families in need. They have already opened their campus for a shelter and donation center, so with the money they will be able to buy more materials to give out. Please help if you can to help repair the beautiful city and help the humble people in need.
Muchas Gracias!
