Trumansburg Robotics Team 5254 HYPE

Trumansburg Robotics Team 5254 HYPE consists of high school students and mentors from the community competing in the international FIRST Robotics Competition  (FRC).

Our team is 100% community supported and is built upon a partnership which provides an exchange of resources and talents between local businesses and the community.

This campaign is setup to allow community members, our friends, and family a vehicle to support the bright young minds of Trumansburg Robotics Team 5254 HYPE our their goal of raising $10,000 to compete in the 2019 FRC Season - Destination Deep Space. 

This year we are competing in two regional events: 

Fingerlakes Regional Competition   - March 14-15-16 at the Rochester Institute of Technology

Update March 17:
The team competed at the Fingerlakes Regional and finished Ranked #5 in qualifications, advanced to the Semi-Finals, and won the Autonomous Award for all the cool, complex programming that enables our robot to perform game tasks without human operators.

Buckeye Regional Competition  - March 28-29-30 in Cleveland Ohio

Our robotics program gives students a practical outlet to pursue an interest in science, technology, engineering and computer science beyond the classroom. Our robotics program plays a critical role in expanding the STEM and Leadership programs available to the high school students in our rural district.

We Create Opportunities For Students To:
- Build and compete with a robot they design and build
- Work alongside professional engineers
- Learn to use professional hardware and software
- Develop skills such as engineering design, project management, electronics, programming, web and multimedia development, business development,
teamwork, communication, and strategic thinking
- Qualify for over $50 million in college scholarships otherwise inaccessible outside of FIRST
