Update March 2018
We have found a treatment plan in New York that gives Breya her best possible chance and thanks to your support, we should be on our way at the beginning of May. We still have a little way to go to reach our target, but we are grateful for the support of the charity SUPPORT OUR PARAS, who have agreed to make sure Breya gets the treatment she needs.
We are turning off donations on this page, but if you would still like to donate towards Team Breya, please do so through the charity’s page, details of which can be found at www.supportourparas.org By donating through the charity, we are able to claim Gift Aid on donations, which means that Breya can get an extra 25p per £1 without any extra cost to the donor. With your generosity, this means we could add so much more to Breya’s fund.
Our hopes are high for our brave Breya, who has come so far and through so much already. Thank you to each and every one of you for donating and supporting our little warrior. H, O, B
On Friday the 13th of January 2017, Breya Ward who
Is 2 years old and the daughter of Ollie Ward and Holly Robinson was sadly diagnosed with Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma. A very rare Cancer that effects Children under the age of 6. A very cruel and aggressive disease that has grown on little Breya's adrenal gland, and grown to consume the whole of her stomach; as well as spread to her bones And bone marrow all over her body. Breya has started her treatment which is a very intense type of Chemotherapy and will last over 18-20 months as currently Breya's tumour is inoperable. However, the aim and our dream is to have Breya cured by the 5 year point of starting Chemotherapy, there is no quick fix and this will be a long and challenging road. Her proud Mum, Holly Robinson and her Dad Ollie Ward are by her side every day throughout her battle and have both put their lives and careers to one side to focus on their daughters fight for survival and to keep Breya smiling.
Deverstatingly 50% of stage 4 neuroblastoma patients will relapse within 2 years. If this happens the UK and the NHS doesnt currently have any treatments or pathways for curing this. This means in the case of the cancer returning the only option is travelling to the US for new trial therapies which could save Breya's life. This treatment would cost somewhere in the region of £250,000 just to help people understand the scale of this plea. Also Breya is part of a new break through trial...but if for any reason she no longer meets the requirements breyas family will need to fund her treatment elsewhere in order to get required lifesaving drugs. Breya is already falling slightly behind on the chemo check points and we have some further concerns regarding our access to the essential immunotherapy. Although we are still thinking positively we need a plan to ensure we can support her regardless of what the road ahead throws at us.
Breya is a hero. She fights each and every day with a smile on her face, she has gone through more than any adult I know and nothing ever gets her down, she is already an inspiration to many. Her life is worth more than all the money in the world..... Please support us with her fight for survival and a long happy future.
