!Robbed Maternity Leave Money!
Donation protected
My husband & I have adopted a HIGH medical needs child who had been in NICU for 3 & 1/2 months since his birth 7/1/14. After facing MULTIPLE complications & almost dying twice, we are now facing a completely different battle that we NEVER saw coming.
For over 2 & 1/2 years I have worked to save up all of my "paid time off hours" at my job that I could. I put in NO vacations, No time off. Nothing! I wanted as much paid maternity leave just like any other natural child bearing mother. After switching my status from part time to “Casual" status, so I could be with my child in Georgia in between shifts, I have learned that my company has DELETED all my saved hours for maternity leave. My Manager, & supervisor BOTH told me I would receive my pdo pay just like a normal check or would get it sent in one lump check. They were wrong, & I have lost all that HARD worked money, & my company is banking it. Human resources told me, " There is a policy somewhere out there & you should have checked behind your manager & supervisor to make sure the weren’t wrong." They couldn't even direct me where to find the policy & I shouldn't have to go behind my manager & supervisor to see if they are advising me correctly.
I was given no information that my hours & money would be stolen, or signed anything!!!!
Now our miracle baby is home, & my job has collected my hard earned pay & left us in the dust.
I was told my old position could be reinstated & I could get my PDO back, but they would not guarantee my casual position. (I'm 100% sure I would lose the casual status because we're so short staff we're having to hire traveling nurses just to make due).
I HAVE to be casual right now as he needs a baby nurse to take care of him, which I happen to be!
So I had to choose either to keep my old part time position with PDO pay & loose my casual status(& be expected to work those hours & not just call out to earn the hours), or give up the PDO pay & keep the needed casual status for my special needs child.
Due to his condition it is imperative that I be home with him for his care, especially as we just get him settled in. Human Resources told me then there's nothing I can do to get those hours back. They have legally stolen over 156 hours that I have painstakingly saved since my very first day. To top it off, both that manager & supervisor have now quit!
I am a RN that helps take care of other newborns & their mothers. Will you please help do the same for me & my little one as we have fallen through the crack of this corporate system?
Thank you for taking the time to read. ANYTHING given is a huge blessing & more then we have!!!!!!
