STEM UK Champions to go to World Finals
Team 'L2O' are the UK & Ireland Champions of the world's largest STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) competition, the prestigious First Lego League.
The team are now invited to represent Britain at the World Championship in Detroit, USA in April but need your support to be able to attend!
We are a group of six pupils (aged 14-16 years) from Ralph Allen School and Beechen Cliff School in Bath, and have been working together for two years. We are self-organised, meeting twice a week to design, build, and program our robot, and also to research our project, find an innovative solution to problems encountered during long term space travel, and to prepare our presentation for the competition for this year's theme 'Into Orbit '.
All our hard work over the year has paid off and not only did our robot win the Robot Performance and Knock-Out competition, we won the overall Champions Award and thereby came first out of 820 teams across the British Isles!
The next step is Detroit, where the best 108 teams of the 40,000 teams who entered globally will compete.
This is fantastic but is also very expensive. Together with the registration fee, flights, and accommodation it will cost about £7,800 and we are looking for financial help to make our dream a reality because we really feel we deserve to go. This is where you come in.
We would be very grateful for any donations, every penny makes a difference. Donations can be easily made through this page or you can email for further details, eg if you prefer to donate through Ralph Allen School. (Please note that you can set the donation to gofundme itself to 0).
We would also be very happy to be sponsored by companies. In return we would be glad to promote your business, eg by wearing T-shirts showing your logo, and promoting your business at our pit stand in Detroit, as well as on social media. This will be a huge global event with over 70,000 attendees in total. Please use the email icon top right to contact us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story today and we hope you will consider our request for sponsorship!
