Save The Kids Ten Goose Boxing Gym

Dear Friends and Family,
Ten Goose Boxing Gym has been servicing the community of Van Nuys as well as other surrounding areas in the San Fernando Valley for over 20 years. Throughout the years it has been able to provide services to at risk youth, ex gang members, helping them stay off the streets, and providing them with a chance to better their lives. You have often seen videos of Ricky training celebrities like Justin Bieber, Mike Epps, but we often fail to see the videos of the countless hours he puts into this gym making sure that the gym still remains a gym for the community. He has given hope to many children as well as adults, that there is a better way of life by building their confidence through boxing. Having been one of those at risk youth himself at one time in his life Ricky understands the hardships, and the peer pressure that comes from being one of those children. He devotes many hours to making sure these children have a place to go and to stay off the streets. He often waives his fees to anyone who is not financially able to pay for his services, but just asks that they help clean the gym. He also understands that through boxing he was able to turn his life around, and be an example for children and ex gang members. For those of you who have met Ricky, you know that he is a devoted father, and a man that will give the shirt off his back to help anyone who needs it. Even through all his fame, he has managed to stay humble and has never forgotten where he came from.
A couple of months Ricky was involved in altercation defending his gym against the very same type of people that he has fought to keep the children he trains away from. In fighting this case he has spent thousands of dollars in attorney fees, and the outcome of the case did not go as he had hoped. Ricky will be incarcerated for some months, and this will put a substantial financial burden on the gym.
We are asking for your donations to help with what you can to help pay for expenses for the gym while he is away. Your donations will be used only to pay for gym expenses and not his personal expenses. We ask that you donate whatever you can, anything helps. We also ask that you remember the difference Ricky and Ten Goose Boxing Gym make in the community with their services.
