Tessa Blankets those in Need

Two years ago my nine year old daughter, Tessa, wrote her yearly letter to Santa and my heart melted as soon as I read it.  The beginning of the letter started out as a typical nine year old's letter to Santa asking for the usual but how the letter ended was very surprising.  The last thing she asked Santa for was for "every poor kid to get a warm blanket and their favorite toy".  So wanting to support her kind heart I told her that we could help Santa by buying and collecting blankets for those in need in our community.  In 2017 we collected 84 blankets, wrapped and gave them out to the children in need at a holiday breakfast in our community.  To say it was one of the most wonderful experiences I have shared with my family would be putting it mildly, it was much more than that.  It was  truly amazing especially when Tessa said to me, "Mom, that was great but next year we need to do more, bigger & better"!  She sure did, last year we collected enough money to purchase 212 blankets and distributed them to 5 different homeless shelters in Baltimore, Westminster and Gettysburg.  The past two years we were so blessed by all of your support which we are forever grateful but in order for Tessa to Blanket those in Need, we need your help again.  THIS YEAR TESSA WANTS TO HELP ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN ON THE ROSEBUD NATIVE AMERICAN RESERVATION IN SOUTH DAKOTA.  THESE CHILDREN LIVE IN EXTREME POVERTY AND TESSA WANTS TO HELP BRIGHTEN THIER HOLIDAY THIS YEAR.  I thought a GoFundMe site might be easier because many of you aren't close by.  If you would like to her Tessa achieve her goal please donate anything you can and I will purchase as many blankets, hats and gloves as I can.  We will either be going out to the reservation to hand the blankets or we will be sending them to the principal of Norris Elementary on the Rosebud Reservation right before Christmas to help Santa out.  Thank you so very much for your kindness & generosity!  Oh and if you would rather send a blanket or two please message me and I will send you our address.  Please feel free to share.  The more we raise the more we can help.  Have a wonderful holiday season!!
