Chevalier Ramsay N.4 Victim fund
Donation protected
NO MORE DONATIONS PLEASE. THANK YOU ALL TO THOSE THAT CONTRIBUTED WHEN MOST NEEDED.
A lady is now a widow, her husband having lost his life in the bombing at the "Maelbeek" metro station in Brussels. Her late husband, although not a Mason himself, was a close friend of some Brethren of Lodge Chevalier Ramsay N.4. She was of great assistance, in her professional medical capacity, to Brethren who went through serious health problems. It will take up to 6 months for the bank to release the funds on her late husband's account (he was self-employed and did not enjoy very comprehensive social security coverage). In the meantime, a rent has to be paid. School fees and attendant costs will have to be borne for her son. The lady will likely wish to go back to her home country, the UK.
The fund would aim at contributing 1,000 Euros a month for up to 6 months toward payment of the rent.
Or contribute toward payment of the rent for a shorter period, but use the available balance to contribute to the cost of moving from Belgium to the UK, for a maximum of 2,000 Euros. In addition to that, the fund would contribute 200 Euros per month up to the end of 2016 if necessary.
Providing Financial relief to one bereaved household would cost anything between 5,000 and 10,000 Euros. Depending on the generosity of sponsors, we could make provisions for helping bereaved loved ones of deceased Brethren or friends of other Lodges.
The use of your contributions will be accounted for. Should there be a positive balance left on the fund account after relieving bereaved loved ones of victims of this particular terrorist attack in Belgium, it could be used to respond to appeals being launched in similar circumstances, in Belgium or abroad.
