Thanksgiving Turkey Basket Drive!
Who: The Reno Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi and the Nevada Center for Reproductive Medicine combining efforts to lead our local community and businesses in providing a warm Thanksgiving meal by creating a Thanksgiving Turkey Basket!
What: This annual philanthropic initiative directly benefits many families of the Reno Children's Cabinet.
Donate or create your own basket! We are asking for your help in continuing this amazing Thanksgiving tradition! Help join us by donating money to the Thanksgiving Turkey Basket fund or getting your friends, family or business together in creating your very own Turkey Basket. All proceeds raised will directly go to grocery shopping to create baskets!
When: Please have your baskets ready for drop off by:

Where: Drop off Times & Locations
-12PM - 1:30PM @ the Nevada Center for Reproductive Medicine (645 Sierra Rose Dr. Suite 205, Reno NV 89511)
-4PM - 5PM @ the Children's Cabinet of Reno NV
(777 Sinclair St. Reno, NV 89502)
Please include in your basket: Traditional and nonperishable Thanksgiving items such as: mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, stuffing and packaged rolls (feel free to add any other Thanksgiving non-perishables sides you enjoy!) Please place all items in a large tin oven dish. In addition, we ask that each basket includes one frozen 10 - 12 lb turkey. Please keep your turkey in your freezer until the day of drop off in order to avoid thawing.

A brief history: In 2009, the Thanksgiving Turkey Basket Drive was brought to the young women of the Nevada Alpha chapter of Pi Beta Phi at the Univeristy of Nevada Reno. The Thanksgiving Turkey Basket drive was an overwhelming success and it has since continued to grow, expand, and evolved over the years. In 2014, the Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi partnered with the Nevada Center for Reproductive Medicine to further expand our outreach to local businesses approximate to NCRM's location within the Quail Corners Complex in Reno. NCRM reached out to the surrounding businesses in the area and serves as a local drop location to anyone contributing in this great effort. After enormous expansion, storing all those turkeys began to become quite a challenge, this year we are pleased to announce Imperial Bar and Lounge will help our efforts by providing freezer space before the big delivery to the Children's Cabinet!
Continued Success:
Last year we raised over $2,000 and provided over 120 Thanksgiving meals for families of the Children's Cabinet through our Thanksgiving Turkey Basket drive!
A sincere thank you to the many businesses, our local community of wonderful people and your generous donations that help make our event successful year after year!
