The Change | Project Thailand

In January, members of Bowdoin College's Men's Soccer Team will travel to the Ban Klongsai School in Phang Nga, Thailand. While there they will repair structural damage, provide essential supplies, and repair a soccer field for the school and its students.
With $5,000, the group would be able make necessary upgrades to keep the school operational and attractive. With enrollment rates plummeting, it is our hope to encourage the children of Phang Nga to invest in themselves by receiving an education at the Ban Klongsai School. The trend of these less fortunate children falling out of schooling and into child labor is gaining too much momentum. Education will grant these children opportunities besides working in agriculture at very young ages.
As college soccer players, we have seen first hand the benefits that soccer can have on a child's educational experience. Having an outlet to socialize, grow, and have fun with your classmates is an integral part to a student's education. We hope our efforts will foster an environment in which these children wake up excited to attend school and further their education. Through these small changes, it is our intention to address the much larger issues at hand by making the prospect of attending school a more attractive option.
The Change needs your help to make a difference in this community and to make Project Thailand a success. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. All proceeds go directly towards the effort of empowering Thailand's youth through education in order to help break the cycle of child labor.
