The Germany Family Fund
Donation protected
Robert Germany was an Associate Professor of Classics at Haverford College. As some of you may be aware, Robert is the husband of Dianna Germany, a member of the current cohort of McBride Scholars at Bryn Mawr College. As we McBrides so often say, a part of what makes our community so special is the fact that so many of us enter into the community bringing along an entire supporting cast of partners, children and friends to help us along the way. As we are tried, and challenged, and pushed to find new ways of thriving as both human beings and as academics, those people in our support networks so often weave themselves into a tapestry of support that feels just a little bit richer than a network, a little bit fuller than community- it begins to feel like family. Over the years, the home and family of Robert, Dianna and their four beautiful children has become a kind of haven for so many members of our community, as they have welcomed us in with genuine warmth, endless kindness and magnificently, beautifully open hearts. We grieve with Dianna as our sister, and mourn the loss of a loving father to their incredible children.
The McBride community asks that you think of Dianna and her amazing children in this incredibly awful time- their needs going forward will be many. No donation is too small to make an impact. We know that this loss is felt not only by our small group in Pennsylvania, but by a global network of friends, scholars, and family. We hope that by showing our support in this small way, we can begin to surround Dianna and her children with love that lets them worry about the day to day just a little less.
All funds donated (less the portion deducted by GoFundMe) will be given directly to Dianna to use as she wishes for any expenses, no questions or documentation necessary. We are so grateful for your help, and hope to stretch this goal many times over- please share widely if you can. All donors will receive thank you notes from the McBride Alums running the page, but we are unable to provide further "rewards."
