Being the Hope of a Billion is being an example for more than a billion Africans who have been told their dreams are not possible. I want to be the example that any dream, whether it is being a doctor, a lawyer, or an Olympian, is possible with hard work, dedication and perseverance.

Hope of a Billion is setting a goal to do the unthinkable. For me, it is becoming the first African to win a winter medal in the winter Olympics. Being that example is one of the things that makes me work so hard, because everything worth doing, requires hard work.
It’s becoming the HOPE for a billion underdogs who refuse to give up on their dreams.

SUPPORT
Being the Hope of a Billion isn’t easy. In fact, it is expensive to compete in a sport that does not have professional or government support.

The sport of skeleton has only 17 tracks in the world for athletes to compete in as many as ten races per year. This requires extensive travel and travel expenses to attend these events and compete against world class athletes to prepare for the 2022 Olympics. The expenses include hotels, rental cars, competition fees, food, and training camps.

Phase 1 of this journey will cost $75,000 to pay for the assistance of an Olympic skeleton coach with more than 20 years of experience. The rest will pay for travel across Europe and North America for training-camps and competitions.
To get better I need to slide as much as possible and it’s important to have a good coach with the experience and knowledge to help me improve. My rivals have been sliding for 6-18 years, compared to my two years of sliding.
As an African athlete, it is important for me to get as much experience as I can and I need your support to make that happen.
This is just the beginning of a journey, a journey to become an Olympic champion. I need support to achieve this goal, not just for me, but for the Billion underdogs to see the Hope of a Billion walk onto the medal podium. Any amount helps. I have worked my entire life to be the Hope of a Billion, and your help allows me to focus 100% on being an athlete.
