The Jon James project

Canadian music artist Jon James McMurray died performing an airplane stunt in Vernon BC on October 20th, 2018 just outside the town of West Wold between Vernon and Kamloops. Jon, born in Calgary, Alberta and grew up skiing in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The 34 year old was a world-renowned professional skier with multiple world firsts under his belt. He was the first skier ever to backflip onto and off of a rail in addition to garnering a reputation known as one of the most innovative and well-respected skiers in the world. After sustaining multiple injuries including a broken back and shattered heel, Jon decided to pursue his growing passion for music. He poured his ambition for life into his music and relentlessly worked toward advancement in the music industry. Jon earned his way onto the stage and loved to perform at large events like Center of Gravity alongside some of the biggest names in Hip Hop. Jon continually pushed his music into uncharted territory by merging his passion for performing incredible stunts with his groundbreaking music video production.

Jon was an incredibly motivated person; always smiling, encouraging everyone around him to follow their passion and live life to fullest. He filled everyone around him with positivity and never spoke poorly about another person. He truly had a heart of gold. Jon would want to be remembered as a beacon of light to follow your dreams and would want everyone to continue to be inspired through his music and life message. He is survived by mother Jennifer, father Douglas, younger brother Jarrod and countless close friends and fans alike. If you would like to hear more of his music and see more of his videos his team will be completing his projects and releasing all his content.

The fund, in its entirety, is dedicated to releasing all of Jon James’ remaining music and video content for the world to see, hear, spread and enjoy and to keep his music available through all online services. Jon's one goal in life was to spread his message of positivity, following one’s true calling, and improving one’s self while living life to the fullest and as BIG as humanly possible. 

All money generated from the sale of Jon’s future content will be donated to a foundation dedicated to helping kids realize their dreams and teach them to capitalize on their limitless potential.
