The Lit List at Photoville NYC!
Donation protected
The Lit List proudly showcases the work of 30 must-watch image-makers who have flown under the industry’s radar because a white, cisgender, heteronormative, patriarchal lens dominates our world’s visual histories.
The Lit List, by the Authority Collective , in partnership with Diversify Photo , is committed to recognizing and awarding the outstanding work of photographers who are womxn, femmes, trans, non-binary people of color, or otherwise underrepresented artists.
Nominations came from other photographers as well as photo editors, reps, and visual, art and creative directors. The jury consists of industry decision-makers of color and allies — including Zora J Murff of Strange Fire Collective, Paloma Shutes of California Sunday magazine, Siobhán Bohnacker of The New Yorker, and Noelle Flores-Theard of Magnum Foundation.
We’re excited to present the work of the Lit List winners at this year’s Photoville NYC.
We’re aiming to raise $7,500 to cover our costs for Photoville, which include: $4,000 for our container space, $1,500 for printing costs and other on-site expenses, $500-$2,000 to help aid with travel for board members and a few of the Lit List finalists.
Anything more will go towards the Authority Collective’s starting costs and resources for our members.
If you’re able to give $30 or more by FRIDAY, AUGUST 17, you’ll receive a limited edition Authority Collective sticker and we’ll list your name as a Partner on our website and our promo postcards that we’ll distribute at Photoville NYC.
That said, every bit counts.
If you’re not able to help financially at this time, that’s all right! We’re incredibly grateful for your friendship and support in general. Please consider subscribing to our newsletter for Authority Collective updates , and following us on Instagram , Twitter and Facebook.
