Magic of Books: Spring Campaign

Hello -- can you believe it -- another plea for books!

I usually organize a books campaign once a year during fall conferences for my 35 AWESOME students! My name is Leanne O'Callaghan, and I am a reading and math specialist at an inner-city, low-income school in St. Louis, MO.

Just today, something happened at school that literally brought tears to my eyes.  Two of my 6th grade students showed me a school project that they had completed for their ELA class.  The project was a Book in a Box.  I was shocked to discover that the books that they chose were purchased from the fall Magic of Books campaign. 

While, I was super pleased that the students enjoyed their selected books, I was also saddened to think that the only books they had to choose from were ones they had read in October. 

I have decided to add a spring Magic of Books campaign this year.  My goal is to raise enough money for each of my students to select at least two new books next week during spring parent conferences.  Please consider helping my students continue to find Magic in books!!! Feel free to share and spread the word!
