The Memorial of Joseph Ordway
Donation protected
Just before 1am on June 10, 2019, our best friend and brother, Joey Ordway, was in a terrible car accident. He was transported to Santa Barbara cottage hospital where a few hours later he passed away due to his injuries.
Joey was one of the most caring and selfless people I’d ever known. He was that guy who could and would strike up a conversation with a stranger for hours and later come out as best buds. He always gave whatever he could and never asked for anything in return. All he ever wanted from anyone was their friendship, companionship, and love.
And while his friendships were true and many, the bonds he had with his siblings were unmatched. The way they have looked out for one another and supported eachother throughout their entire lives is remarkable. If you’re reading this you knew Joey in some capacity, and if you knew him, there is no way you didn’t know his brothers and sister. Andrew Scott, Amy Burke, and Nicholas Ordway are like Joeys soul mates for lack of a better word. There is nothing that will ever come between these 4. Not in life or death.
They are so thankful to everyone who has reached out with condolences and offers of support. It means the world to them to see the outpour of love from our community.
The funds we raise will go directly to his sister Amy so that his siblings and their spouses can give him the memorial he deserves and secure a place for Joey in the Goodland that we all may visit. Goleta was his home and we can’t think of a better way to honor him than a celebration with all who loved him right here in this amazing community.
