Our Story:
My son called and told me the house was on fire. I was at the hospital waiting for my wife to come out of surgery. I instructed him to get out of the house and call 911. He had already done so.
I came home to a 2-Alarm blaze had completely destroyed our home.
I grew up in that house, and after my mother passed away, we inherited it. The process of transferring the deed to our name was underway, but not yet complete. Paperwork and a myriad of details followed, and unfortunately one of the details that was missed was the renewal of the home owners insurance. In the blink of an eye, 53 years of memories vanished.
I am currently in-between jobs. With no insurance, and no income, I have no idea how we will move forward. We are at a nearby hotel, and have enough funds to stay until January 3rd.
I was raised to rely on myself. To provide for my family. It is extremly difficult to ask for help, but we need it desperatly! Our immediate need is to raise enough money to move the salvagable furniture to a climate controlled storage unit so they can be restored by experts in that field. The long term dream is to rebuild. Anything you can do to help is appreciated.
