The Muster

Currently 90% of NSW is affected by drought. Our farmers and rural communities are suffering emotionally, physically and financially. The price of feed is at an all-time high. Animals are dying every day, people are committing suicide and families are being torn apart.

The cost to feed a cow is around $5 a day, $35 a week. Multiply this by a hundred head of cattle, add freight costs, petrol, mortgage repayments and you can see how the costs add up. Many farmers are resorting to selling their remaining stock. This means that when the drought breaks they will be starting from scratch.

We speak with farmers and their families every day via Facebook, email and phone and I can tell you that their hearts are breaking and that they are close to giving up.

The money donated to The Muster Drought Appeal will be used to purchase supplies for the farmers in the areas we travel to around NSW. We will be doing this for two weeks at the end of August to give a helping hand.

Any donations are appreciated and you will be kept up to date through the entire journey via our Facebook and Youtube pages.

We are also taking food and hygiene product donations. We can collect these from anywhere in Sydney and also along the way as we travel through NSW (we will update locations once mapped out). Please contact us if you wish to donate food or hygiene products.
