The NICU Ninja
This is RJ. When he was born, he was very sick. The NICU staff at Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital saved his life. Every year, we go back to the hospital and to the Ronald McDonald House with Christmas cookies so that we can thank them as a family for saving our boy. Because of them, RJ is now a happy, healthy, thriving 8 year old. He loves school, soccer, practices karate 3 times a week (he has earned his junior green belt), and loves running 5Ks with his dad.
We are now in YEAR 3 of fundraising, with help from so many amazing people! Every year my heart is so full with the amount of support my kiddo gets on this journey of his.
Year 1, we put together gift bags for all the NICU families and delivered two truckloads of toys and supplies to BBCH & The Ronald McDonald House.
Year 2, RJ was given a special mission - to donate enough iPod touches and speakers for every room in the NICU for baby development. He also bought enough books & rattles that every baby received a special gift from Santa on Christmas morning!
Year 3... we'll see what the future holds! <3 Follow our Facebook page for details on our online Auction (facebook.com/NICUNinja).
Please help us make his dream come true – and bring some cheer to sick children and their families this holiday season!
