The Noire Pageant presented by Perle Noire

Hello, darlings! My name is Perle Noire and I am the original Queen of Burlesque. I have performed at the Sydney Opera House, the Strip Strip Hooray Revue starring Dita Von Teese, and at The Burlesque Hall of Fame. Although I am the most successful black burlesque performer since Josephine Baker, I have not been awarded the same accolades, public recognition, or the coveted Reigning Queen of Burlesque title at the prestigious Burlesque Hall of Fame.
After years of being overlooked and essentially erased from the burlesque history books, I decided to create my own dynasty and to celebrate my own power. Burlesque Pageants have been around for decades, but there aren’t many performers of color who have been crowned or celebrated as a queen of burlesque. I believe it’s time for a change. My mission is to create opportunities for performers of color to become headliners, educators, and savvy entrepreneurs. That is why I am pleased to announce that I will debut The Noire Pageant for the POC burlesque community in New York City on March 12-15, 2020 with stellar co-producer, Egypt Blaque Knyle. I need your help to produce the most opulent performer of color pageant in history! The expenses include, but are not limited to the following:
* Round Trip Flights for our Headliners
* Hotel Accommodations for our Headliners
* Venue Rental Cost
* Craft Food Services
* First Place Cash Prize
* Crown & Sash
* Trophies
Mission Statement: I'm a proud burlesque queen who believes in protesting against ignorance, and the limited celebration of women who look like me. I've made it my mission to showcase the beauty and opulence of brown skin. I do so by honoring the men and women who made my livelihood possible. I take a stand by presenting acts that celebrate my roots! Glamour has many faces. Burlesque has many faces. History will not repeat itself.
