AFL SportsReady's, Ready Foundation
WHO WE ARE
The Ready Foundation was established by AFL SportsReady and aims to assist in relieving poverty, suffering, distress or misfortune experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and other disadvantaged youth.
OUR STORY
There can be many reasons to start a charity, but for AFL SportsReady, ‘making a difference’ is at the top of the list.
Every day we see young trainees thrive, after being given a chance to create a better future. However, there is much work to be done in providing additional programs and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and disadvantaged young people.
The Ready Foundation, led by AFL SportsReady Chair and former Victorian Premier, the Honourable Steve Bracks AC, aims to assist in relieving poverty, suffering, distress, misfortune or helplessness experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and other disadvantaged youth.
We believe in a fair and united Australia, and The Ready Foundation is a demonstration of our commitment toward reducing disadvantage and achieving reconciliation.
The Ready Foundation will contribute to a better Australia by removing the barriers preventing these groups from accessing the education and employment that all young people deserve. This charity will continue to grow and assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and disadvantaged youth, while also providing financial assistance to encourage participation in traineeships alongside other forms of education.
The Ready Foundation will help provide a brighter future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and disadvantaged young people, through gaining new skills and improved self-confidence, while creating successful career pathways through education, employment and traineeships.
DONATE
With your support we're able to help or benefit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young
people and disadvantaged young people from across the country by:
· Funding employment or traineeship opportunities
· Helping to eliminate the barriers to work or further education by providing funding for work or interview clothing, tools, protective equipment, public transport tickets and mobile phone credit; vocational education and training fees
· Helping to reduce the costs associated with education, such as university/student administration fees, computers and stationery.
· Delivering programs to assist young people to gain skills and self confidence in life as well as create successful career pathways through education, employment and traineeships.
Together, we can make that difference.
