As many of you may or may not know...Michael, Casi and Piper have been going through a difficult time. Michael has been very sick and in and out of the hospital at Vanderbilt multiple times within a matter of weeks. To give you a little history about Michael... He was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor approximately 8 years ago. He underwent major surgery to remove the tumor along with chemotherapy and radiation. They gave him a prognosis of living 5years. He is a miracle to say the least. God not only blessed him with a remarkable recovery, but also with a sweet baby girl during that time. Piper is a miracle herself and was a gift from God to Michael and Casi as a new beginning. Michael has an MRI every 6 months to keep a check on things. It is daunting in and of itself with the worry and fear that the cancer will return. Fast forward to January 2017...Michael experienced a severe seizure so he immediately followed up with his physician at Vanderbilt. An MRI revealed that he had what appeared to be some mini-strokes along with some possible reoccurance of tumor. This was the day that Michael and Casi had been dreading for 8 years. He miraculously recovered with hardly any deficits and was released home with medication adjustments and to be watched closely. However, last week he suffered 2 more strokes in which he has not bounced back from. Casi and Michael are back down at Vanderbilt and he was admitted to ICU. The physicians are running multiple tests and are puzzled to what exactly is going on. You can only imagine how distraught they both are not knowing for certain what is going on and what is to come. They have had to leave their sweet little girl at home in Paducah in the care of their precious family and friends. I've had so many people reach out to ask what they can do...and although Casi and Michael would never ask themselves...we decided as their friends...that we would ask for support for them. Casi, of course, is unable to work and bills are coming in. The money they are out on gas alone is adding up as they travel back and forth. So we are asking for prayers first and foremost. Also, if you feel led to give a small donation to help ease this financial burden for them...it would be much appreciated. Thank you so much for helping us care for Michael, Casi and Piper. They are such a blessing to so many people....so now it's our turn to bless them.
