The Ticket P1s PowerUp Puerto Rico
My name is Francis "Frankie" Martinez. I'm a sales guy here at The Ticket in DFW and have been here for a little over 10 years. You might have heard the guys talk about me as they have asked for your help for this campaign. I am from San Juan, PUR. My family is all down there and just like everyone else has been without power for close to two months. I am blessed to work at this radio station that has such great and generous listeners!!!! Also blessed to work with people like Jeff "Cat" Catlin and Alec Drake, our Program Director and Director of Sales respectively. Both of them agreed to help promote "The Ticket P1s Power UP Puerto Rico" campaign on the air right away! The funds that we have raised are to buy generators to ship to Puerto Rico. This is a big team effort. It begins with all of you donating to the cause. And you did! Next our client Winston Water Coolers will purchase the generators for us, which American Airlines Cargo and their partner Airgroup DFW will deliver to Puerto Rico to our partners on the ground, the Mar Azul Church in Bayamon. They are amazing. I got in touch with them after seeing the work they have doing to help the island on social media. In those videos I saw Franklin Gomez, a Puerto Rican Olympian (Wrestling), whom I had met a few years back in Wrestling tournaments in Puerto Rico. Franklin worked with them right away in the initial stages of their relief effort. His recommendation meant the world to me, as I wanted to make sure that we worked with an organization that was serious about helping. Their commitment to help the recovery is absolutely remarkable. They have 4 Regional Centers, and 30 local centers which has helped them reach close to 78% of the cities in the island to provide relief supplies. They are organized and helping! The Pastor, Jonathan Ocasio is thrilled that our Dallas area listeners are helping the island. They will be in charge of distributing the generators to families in dire need. Again, I want to thank you all for helping make this campaign a success. I will be providing updates as we get closer to shipping the generators, with dates and ultimately of their delivery in PUR to those families!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you all for your help. You will make life more bearable for families in Puerto Rico. A little hope goes a long way! Bless you all!

A little over 50 days ago, Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico. The devastation has been unimanigable. 70% of the island is still without electricity. About half now have water. Predictions of when the power will be fully restored, call for some of the smaller towns in the island to get electricity well into 2018. Sportsradio 1310 AM/96.7 FM The Ticket is going to help. We ask you to join us in this campaign, "The Ticket and P1s Power Up Puerto Rico". With your contributions, we will buy generators to donate to the Mar Azul Church in Puerto Rico, who will distribute to families in need. Please help us in making life a little better for families in Puerto Rico. Thank you!
