Box of Hope
Donation protected
Two years ago, at the age of twenty-six, I was stripped completely of all my comfort zones. I was asked to lie on my back, for a week straight (which then turned into six weeks) and I promised not to move. When you're twenty-six years old and completely healthy and capable of doing the everyday things, including showering, eating while sitting up, using the restroom and taking care of your children, but are forced to not do any of those things in order to fight for your unborn child's life, you find yourself in a place full of hopelessness, loneliness, feeling degraded and alone. Our mission here at The Color Blue & Hope is to love on mothers as they are placed on bed rest in order to fight for their baby's life. We want to give them hope when they feel hopeless. We want to pray for them when they themselves do not know what to pray anymore. We want them to know they matter, their baby matters, and they have an army fighting alongside them and God is there, through it all. We want to share God's hope in a season that feels hopeless. We want to share God's strength when it feels easier to give up. And we want to share God's promise of shelter through the storm. A Box of Hope is filled with just that. From toiletries to keep her clean and notecards to keep her busy to a devotional to keep her heart full, we want to let her know that she is not alone & encourage her to keep fighting. It's worth it. She's worth it. Her baby is worth it.
We are asking for donations to sponsor TEN mothers on bed rest! We will create the boxes and deliver them to local hospitals. If we go over our goal then we will be able to sponsor more!
Eventually, The Color Blue & Hope will have three boxes to choose from, Box of Hope (Bed Rest), Box of Love (Infant Loss) and Box of Celebration (First Birthday following Infant Loss). Right now, let's aim to launch Box of Hope as we kick off this new journey!
