Crucial Therapy for Naseem
Donation protected
Siham Byah—beloved community member, activist, and single mother—was detained by ICE for two months and subsequently deported back to her birth country of Morocco at the end of 2017. Though she had a pending asylum case, she was ripped from her eight year old son, Naseem, who was placed in DCF custody despite being cared for by Siham’s partner. As a result, Naseem has not had consistent communication with his mother for the last eight months. He was uprooted from his home in Nahant, MA to another state where he has no connections to friends or loved ones. No child should ever have to go without their mother. Siham is currently working on a reunification plan with DCF, but the process is long and arduous; in the meantime, she is demanding her son receive the counseling he so desperately needs to process the trauma and grief he is burdened with. This is an urgent ask. Unfortunately, Siham is unable to take on this financial burden alone. With your help, we can get Naseem counseling crucial to his growth and wellbeing. Together, we can make a difference in this child's life.
