Shelter In The Storm

In 2007, My mother was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Luekemia). Her doctor recommended a trial drug, which she tried, that quickly put her into remission. However, 10 years later because the AML mutated into a more aggressive form of the disease her fight was not over. Our bills continue to accumulate without fail. My younger brother the “twins” graduated highschool last year, and are in their freshman year of college. I, the oldest son, just graduated from college May 20, 2018 with an Economics degree. Our mother was our everything. She was my back when I had no spine and has always been my motivation to push forward. My goal has always been for me to graduate college with a degree and make it big in the NFL so she would never have to worry again. So we never held full time work. On Oct. 23, 2017 God called for his angel to come home and to rest in eternal peace. It’s been a whirlwind of emotions as you could imagine. I miss her more than anything but I am grateful she is no longer in pain. With that being said, everything has been left up to us. We have been doing what we can to keep our house and we have been paying the mortgage and other bills. The mortgage company has put us in quite a dilemma. Even though I was able to check off one goal on my to do list. It’s going to take some time, time that I don’t have if we want to keep this house. We talked to a lawyer that gave us a couple options but with the limited resources we have at this moment he believes we should sell the house. However if we sell it, the opportunity cost of selling it is going to cost more than trying to keep it putting us in more of a while a year or two from now. So I am doing everything I can to keep our home not just for sentimental reasons. So trust me when I say that I truly appreciate every gift of help and offering of love that each of you find in your hearts to share!
