Hello everyone!
My name is Benjamin Thompson and I am 18 years old. It was close to two years ago (March 15, 2012) that I lost my father (the one kissing the frog in the picture) to renal cell carcinoma, a very vicious type of cancer. It was not until recently that the bank noticed that our house that we live in is under my fathers name which is apparently a big problem. My mother and father were divorced for a very long time but lived very happily together which is where we have our dilemma. Since my mom and dad were not married we have no legal rights to be living in this house even though we were and are still a family. My mother is a nurse and only makes so much a year and is supporting 3 full time college students. Me (18), Robert (20), and a foreign exchange student we took in as one of our own that we do not get any funding for, Michael (20). Anyways, the bank is demanding that we either pay the rest of what we owe on the house $120,000 or pick up and leave from so many heartfelt memories. I do not know why this is happening to us, but I am asking from the bottom of my heart to lend a helping hand. I know our goal is a lot but anything helps.
