Throat Punch Melanoma with Jess!!
Donation protected
On December 23rd, Jess roared into a full-on seizure and after a whirlwind of ambulance rides, she went into emergency surgery for Brain Cancer. After much testing, it was determined to be Melanoma, stage IV.
Incurable. Those words were first spoken on December 26th, as they sent us home from KU Med. There is a lot of treatment available, but it won't cure your cancer now, doctors said. Jess is 39 years old.

Jess will need cancer treatment for the rest of her life.
Radiation will begin at the end of this month. Chemo or immune therapy will follow. As an independent contractor for work, she also had no insurance. So far? We owe $89,000. It's only going up from there.
Doctors say that without treatment, Jess would only live 6 MONTHS. Let's make the next year as amazing as possible, because, well, that's the best way to throat punch cancer: to live well despite it.
My goal is to avoid having Jess fret about money after a threatening diagnosis. Some of those bills will be covered by medicaid or disability, and in the meantime, Jess really wants to travel and see as much of the US as she can, and some of these funds may help go towards making that possible.
There is much poetry to be written, heard, and read. Art to make. Books to consume. She's got family in Alabama to visit, the Ozarks to cavort thru and hot springs in Colorado she wants to soak in sometime soon. There's camping and music to absorb with friends and family, and lots of hugs to collect on the way.
Your're not just helping us pay bills, you're helping us have a life outside a hospital room.
