Timothy Groves for Special Olympics LETR
Donation protected
We, (the West Orange Police Department/ PBA local #25) are planning a fundraiser to benefit the Special Olympics in memory of Police Officer Timothy Groves. As you may be aware, this past September, Police Officer Timothy C. Groves lost his courageous fifteen month battle with pancreatic cancer. Tim was 48 years old. He was a fourteen year veteran with the West Orange Police Department and was assigned to the Community Services Unit. Over many years Tim became very active in volunteering with the Special Olympics. He held the Special Olympics very close to his heart and he requested that in his passing "in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Special Olympics".
On June 14th, 2014, at 10:30 am the Township of West Orange will be renaming our West Orange Police Sub Station, 92 Washington St, to the Police Officer Timothy C. Groves Police Sub Station and Community Center. Following the ceremony we have planned a BBQ at the West Orange Elks, 424 Main St, to benefit the New Jersey Special Olympics for a charge of $20 per person paid at the door only. We kindly ask for your assistance in a donation and all proceeds will go directly to the New Jersey Torch Run to benefit the New Jersey Special Olympics in Timmy's name.
